Can I use Dry-it-Out on wet surfaces?

Yes, provided that the surface is not actually "running" with water.

Can I use Dry-it-Out on painted surfaces?

No, it will only work on porous surfaces. It may damage painted surfaces.

Can I use Dry-it-Out on plaster and wallpaper?

Yes, provided that it is not painted.

Can I use Dry-it-Out on floors?

Yes, concrete and flagstone floors can be treated.

Do I need to wait for my walls to dry out before I apply it?

No, you can apply Dry-it-Out to damp walls.

Can I use Dry-it-Out in cellars?

Yes, damp cellars can be waterproofed with Dry-it-Out.

Can I plaster over Dry-it-Out? / Can I screed over it?

Yes, you can apply plaster, screed, or any coating over it.

Can I use Dry-it-Out on all walls previously treated with the water repellent?

You may be able to but you need to test a patch with water first. If the water soaks in you can use Dry-it-Out.

How much will Dry-it-Out cover?

Up to 120 m2 per pack (7.5 litres) - sprayed on. You will use more if brushing or rollering.

How much will it cost?

Less than 50p per square metre (sprayed on).

Why is Dry-it-Out better than other water repellents?

Dry-it-Out not only waterproofs but also removes the moisture from the surface. Other products do not do this and they can only be applied to dry surfaces.

Can I buy Dry-it-Out in the shops?

No, Dry-it-Out is only available direct from the manufacturers.

How long will Dry-it-Out last?

At least 25 years.

How long before I can paint or wallpaper over Dry-it-Out?

After 2 to 3 hours depending upon the temperature

Will Dry-it-Out trap water in the walls?

No, Dry-it-Out is microporous so the walls can "breathe" out the water vapour.

Why spray Dry-it-Out - can I brush it on?

Yes but you will use more.

What precautions must I take when using Dry-it-Out?

Do not expose to naked flames or smoke whilst using. If using indoors, good ventilation is essential. It is recommended that a facemask and goggles are used. Protective gloves are advisable. Keep Dry-it-Out away from children and pets. Cured material is not hazardous.

Will it change the colour of my stonework or bricks?

Depending upon the original colour and porosity of the surfaces, some darkening will be observed. Colour of stonework will be enhanced.

Is it best to treat to the outside or the inside walls?

Using Dry-it-Out indoors is often completely successful however if treating small areas, the damp may simply move along the wall and appear elsewhere. For complete, long-lasting protection it is best to treat the outside. Normally only the South and West facing walls will need treatment as this is the direction of most wind-driven rain.

What are the best weather conditions to apply Dry-it-Out?

Warm, dry weather is obviously best however you should aim to apply when the temperature is above 5oC and rain is not expected.
